About the course
 

Bandwise 2008 gives you the chance to play a wide variety of music for brass, woodwind and percussion and to take part in a range of orchestral groups and workshops, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The age range is 8-21. Whether you have been playing for years or have just reached grade 1, this is for YOU!

Players will be divided into three groups:

Bandwise 3 (Associated Board Grade 5 and above)

Programme to include Sparkling Samba by Gilbert Tinner and Out of this World arr. Jay Bocook

Bandwise 2 (Grades 3-4)

Programme to include King's Row by Carl Strommen and Rhythmos by Robert W Smith

Bandwise 1 (Grades 1-2)

Programme to include Postcard from Greece by Jacob de Haan and Believe arr. Michael Story

There will also be a range of fringe activities including flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, brass ensemble, jazz band etc.

Copies of the music and a rehearsal CD are sent out to you about a month before the course.  The CD takes you through the music and rehearsals at the course carry on from where the CD leaves off.
