The Nottingham Youth Chamber Choir was formed in September 1999 and consists of between 20 - 30 members (trebles, sopranos, tenors and basses), between the ages of 13 and 21. They give an average of four concerts per season and go on a residential rehearsal weekend in September of each year. Every other year they go away on a May weekend concert tour.

Rehearsals:

The choir rehearses on a Tuesday evening (7.00pm - 9.00pm) at Pierepont Gamston School, Coledale, West Bridgford.

Joining -
Who should join?

The sort of singers we are looking for:

are able to attend regularly and will be available to sing in all or very nearly all of our concerts

have a flexible voice of pleasing quality (not necessarily trained)

have some sight-reading ability

are interested in performing a wide-ranging repertoire

How to join:

Email us to arrange coming along to one or two rehearsals to see if a) they like the choir and b) if their voice blends with the choir's 'sound'. After this an audition can be arranged

At audition singers are asked to:perform a short song of their own choice which they have brought along with them

sing one or two scales and exercises to illustrate their range

Subscription:

The annual subscription is £100 which can be paid in three termly instalments
